Logistics DHL
Global leader in storage and distribution, DHL Supply Chain had already been investing to achieve leadership in the breakbulk transport market in Brazil. In the last two years, this movement has accelerated, with the area doubling in size. In the land mode, the main investments were in expanding the team and fleet, in technology, in strengthening the branch network, in the air hub at Guarulhos airport and, mainly, in the creation of the Transport Matrix in Jandira (Greater São Paulo), uniting the Control Tower and the National Consolidation Hub for fractional cargo in the same location. With 190 thousand m² of area, 40 thousand m² of warehouse and 130 docks, the structure consolidates breakbulk cargo (LTL), with origins and destinations from/to all of Brazil. Another novelty is the expansion of road/air transport for e-commerce, which will continue to grow in Brazil.
Located close to the ring road and with access to the country's main roads, the headquarters has docks on two sides, speeding up cross-docking. The structure consolidates (24X7) loads from different origins and industries for distribution to all states with greater efficiency. It provides collections, transfers, last mile and aggregate transport services, with integration with the DHL Supply Chain air hub at Guarulhos airport, speeding up cargo dispatch via this mode.
The Transport Headquarters also houses the company's new Control Tower in Brazil, being responsible for the end-to-end management and visibility of all cargo moved by DHL Supply Chain.
With the expansion of e-commerce, omnichannel and marketing actions and
relationship, delivery has been increasingly important in the brands’ experience.
To meet the demand of different industries and situations, DHL Supply Chain
developed personalized solutions, in which the company delivers according to the needs or characteristics of its customers. For example, deliveries are made to hospitals in the hands of doctors, deliveries within business environments and even to celebrities.
“This solution aims to make our delivery experience even more special and
personalized. Here, logistics not only plays a role in getting the item to arrive, but also in delighting and/or adding a message. With this, we are also able to better adapt to our customers' specifications in each situation”, reinforces Fábio Miquelin, vice president of Transport at DHL Supply Chain.
